Any first ball over, other than the serve, can legally be taken with open or unlocked hands, but that contact is considered a set ball. Illegal contacts result in point for opposing team.ĢA. Players do not stop play if you see a ‘double’ or ‘lift’, the ref is to make the call and their decision/judgment is final. Any use of fingers or ‘wrist flicks’ to re-directed the ball may not be used and is considered a lift.ġC. Any receive with apart or unlocked hands is considered a double contact.ġB. Palms of hands must be touching, not just touching fingers.
A 2-handed receive of serve must be taken with locked hands.

A player is allowed to play for a high school club and general sand club, but not 2 of the same style. There is no limit to how many duals a player, pair, club or grouping are required to or allowed to play. Division 3 (D3) is no varsity, low level JV and low to mid level freshman players. Division 2 (D2) is low level varsity, mid-level JV and high-level freshman players. In dual terms, this is the Open division. In high school terms, division 1 (D1) is varsity and high-level JV players. Which ever grouping wins more of those matches, wins the dual.ĭuals are broken up into 3 divisions. *Clubs don’t have to be “official”, (but it’s highly recommended) any group players can form a club and/or squad a group of associated players, could be a general sand club or high school club.
